The Sahara desert was covered in over a foot of snow

This past Sunday, the Sahara desert looked more like the Rocky Mountains, after it snowed for the fourth time in nearly 40 years. The deep, orange sands of Ain Sefra in Alegeria were blanketed with 16 inches of rare snow, creating a breathtaking scene.
